Bre and her husband, along with their three children and one dog, live on a lake in Central Maine and enjoy the outdoors. As a mother of three, very energetic, young boys, she is always on the go with some activity. However, during the day, you can find her sitting at the dining room table teaching her children in their homeschool “classroom.” As a former public school teacher, Bre has taken on the very important task of teaching her own children at home this year. It is turning out to be quite an adventure! Like any family, there are days filled with laughter and days filled with bickering…. Bre hopes there are more days of laughter than bickering, but when Legos are involved…. well, Bre has learned how to be quite the referee!
This blog is an eye-witness account into the life of a homeschooling family in Maine. Join us on our journey as we navigate through co-ops and support groups, determine the best curriculum or “unschooling” approach for our family, and the general learning curve that teaching and learning involves, even on the home front. From time to time, some blog posts will also share teaching activities and helpful resources found around Maine readers will find helpful in their own homeschooling adventure! *Use at your own risk/for your own entertainment.*
Please be sure to show some love and leave a comment on the blog posts. If you post a question, Bre will probably turn it into an assignment for the kids to consider and respond to, so ask away!
